Launceston City Soccer Club season has finally come to end with the Senior Girls Side finishing first again where this weekend they will play off for the statewide cup shield best of luck girls. Division 1 had another solid year winning the league with the City Slickers having many players in their first year had also a good year.
The under 18's have grown a lot over the year finishing up with an impresive result againts Knight 3-3 at home. The Reserves Having a good year placed 6th and drawing on the last game day 3-3 with Lindsay Duncan being the leading goal Scorer throughout the year. The Senior Boys had mixed results through the year placing 7th, They played some good football through the year with a promosing side to come over the years . A mentionable comment to Peter Savill Who coached the boys over the year and helped them grow as players. Michael Frost was captian and showed fine leadership .
Senior Captain Wrap Up :
Back in january we turned up to pre season, on looking around it looked like a kids soccer camp was being run,
we later realised this is where the senior team would be picked from. As the season went on i could see these young lads understanding the game more,
knowing when to make the run and when to hold the ball up,
which is a credit to sav for the hard work he put in with them. It's been a pleasure to lead this young team this year, they gave me a new enthusiasm for the game, If these boys can stay together for the next few years with hopefully the guidence of sav, I would love to Captain the lads to some success in 2 to 3 years time.
(if my legs still work.)
