Launceston City Sc Match Writeups

The local derby between Launceston City and Prospect Knights .

The u18's did all they could to stop the prospect knights but in the end they were defeated 8-0.

The reserve game was sure to be more competitive with the city boys really looking up for it The lads certainly looked like a much fitter and younger side then the prospect knights.

Mitch Dent who had been out all year with a serious knee injury was playing only his second game for the whole year and Jamie Richardson who has had work commitments this year were both started ,to the delight of the lads they were put on wing back positions due to their high levels of fitness ?

The reserves have had a good season and one of the shining lights of the team has been the emergence of DUG(Damon Upton-Greer) who has demonstrated high levels of fitness and be willing to put his body on the line.

The first half was an open playing affair with the possesion shared between both teams, in the end the game was won by the home team and the city lads can be proud of their efforts.

The senior game was building up to be a highly compteitive and entertaining game, the city lads were going in as under dogs as they finish another very dissapointing seasons second from the bottom . Steve Throup was very vocal in the change room and trying to pump up the lads .

The lads lined up with a very attacking lineup with Captain Luke Kolodjashnij pushing in a more forward position with Antonio Macri and Josh Duncan looking to continue their goal scoring form. Michael Frost was behind the front two with Kale Murphy and Josh Harrison as the two holding midfielders. !!

Propect knights took the early lead by putting in two goals. City fought back couragsly with two goals to end the season .The boys once again showed that they are going to be a force next year and with a couple of ins they will be up their once again like the old Launceston City.

We must thank all the coaches  for their efforts  .. not a terrific year in terms of results but the hardwork that you guys put in is evident.  Also, a big thankyou to Peter Savill for all his hard work throughout the year on match day.. well done Pete
